Foreign ministry’s felicitation message to China

Islamabad, November 16, 2012 (PPI-OT):

It is a matter of immense pleasure for me to congratulate you on your appointment as the Secretary General of the Communist Party of China. Having had the privilege of knowing you personally, I feel special joy in your elevation to this post.

Pakistan and China enjoy exceptionally close, friendly and fraternal relations, which are based on mutual trust and confidence. I sincerely believe this friendship is destined to become even stronger in the coming years.

Excellency, the Communist Party of China and Pakistan People’s Party have excellent party-to-party ties. Their relations date back to the time of Chairman Mao Zedong and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the chief architects of Pak-China friendship. We hope to nurture this relationship and promote greater exchanges between our two parties.

I was deeply impressed by your vision for fortifying Pak-China relations in our meeting in June this year. I am confident that this bond of friendship will be further strengthened and our relations raised to a new high.

I avail myself of this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your health and happiness. I wish you success in your new appointment. I assure you of my full support in promoting relations between our two countries.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
