Islamabad: The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ms Hina Rabbani Khar spent a busy day here today utilising the breaks during the London Somalia Conference, to meet with some of her counter parts attending the Conference.
The significant among these meetings was her meeting with Ms Hillary Clinton US Secretary of State which lasted for over forty-five minutes. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere which was also evident from the warm hand shake and smiles at the beginning of the meeting.
The Foreign Minister had a brief meeting with the Prime Minister of Britain Mr. David Cameroon. The discussion focused around the current visit of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan to London for the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.
The Foreign Minister also met with the Foreign Minister of Turkey Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu and the Foreign Minister of France Mr Alain Juppe . In both the meetings bilateral issues remained the base of the deliberations.
The London Somalia Conference it may be mentioned aims at delivering a new international approach to Somalia and devise means to tackle the root causes and effects of the problems in that country. Foreign Ministers and senior Representatives from Forty countries are attending the Conference.
The Conference in being attended by twelve heads of State, four heads of Government and six heads of various International organisations including the Secretary Generals of the UNO and OIC.
