Islamabad: Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ms Hina Rabbani Khar said Pakistan’s relations with UK were exemplary in the sense that UK had always extended assistance according to Pakistan’s needs and more importantly the assistance was given through our own system. She said that UK’s approach toward Pakistan could be best described as “say less and do more”. She was talking to British Pakistani Parliamentarians at a lunch here in London today. “Pakistan- UK relations are based on mutual respect and mutual interest”, she said.
The Minister also briefed the parliamentarians on the internal situation on the country vis a vis the strengthening of democratic institutions in the country. The Minister said that the process of institutional building in Pakistan was irreversible which could be seen in the way the parliament of Pakistan had not only restored the original constitution but also brought about several amendments. She also acknowledged the role played by the Government and the people of the UK in assisting Pakistan economically, commercially, and educationally. says a press release received here today from London.
The parliamentarians lauded the role of the Parliament of Pakistan in helping to determine the national policies on all major issues in the interest of the people.
