Srinagar, July 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Hurriyet leaders led forceful anti-India and anti-Israel demonstrations, today.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a sit-in held at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar and attended by thousands of people urged the world community to conduct complete economic boycott of Israel instead of maintaining silence over massacre of innocent people of Palestine.
He asked the Muslim countries to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to stop Israeli aggression in Gaza. Earlier, a resolution passed during the Juma Congregation condemned the bombing of Israeli forces in Gaza and paid tributes to the martyred Palestinians.
Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a big public gathering at Ganderbal Chowk said that permanent peace in the world was not possible without settling the disputes of Kashmir and Palestine. He urged the Kashmiris not to sell their properties to Indian companies and the institutions run by the Indian army.
Hurriyet leaders, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Abdul Ahad Para and others led similar processions in Badgam and Sopore amid high-pitched anti-India and anti-Israel slogans. Indian police resorted to brute force to break up demonstrations in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Sopore and other areas to disperse the demonstrators, injuring several people.
Javed Ahmad Mir, Jafer Kashmiri, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and other APHC leaders and activists staged a demonstration at Press Enclave in Srinagar to press the demand for release of illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails.
The occupation authorities placed Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Zafar Akbar Butt and Nayeem Ahmed Khan under house arrest. Indian police arrested senior leader of Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, along with his associates in Srinagar when they left the party office to address public gatherings in Qaimoh and Kulgam areas.
