Karachi, August 30, 2016 (PPI-OT):Advisor to CM Sindh for Labour and Human Resources Senator Saeed Ghani paid a surprise visit of different offices and dispensaries of SITE area Karachi on Tuesday Morning and suspended five absent officers and directed for issuance of Explanation/Warning letters to other absent staff members. He expressed his extreme anguish over the absenteeism, unhygienic and pathetic conditions of cleanliness in dispensaries, non-availability of medicines, water and electricity facilities.
He talked to the Commissioner SESSI Mr. Muhammad Farooque Leghari on the spot and directed him for immediate suspension of Medical Advisor SESSI Dr. Mumtaz Ali Shaikh, Chief Medical Officer Umme-Kalsoom, Dr Faisal Rajput, Dr Syeda Farheen LMO Madina dispensary and Dr Rehmat LMO/CMO office SITE office. During the surprise visit at around 8:15am only watch man and sweeper were present and all other officers, doctors, paramedical staff and other employees were absent from their respective offices.
Provincial Advisor said that clear directions were issued to all the employees of the department specially doctors and paramedical staff for observing punctuality in the office and medical units but it seems that these instructions had fallen on deaf ears adding that such negligent attitude and absenteeism would not be tolerated at any cost and negligent officers and staff will be dealt strictly.
He said that PPP leadership has given clear guidelines for improving the performance of government departments and ensuring good governance for which the role of bureaucracy is crucial, Chief Minister Sindh and Sindh cabinet members were working hard to achieve the task of ensuring good governance.
He added that achieving the target of good governance role of government officers and employees is that of backbone. “It is mandatory for officers to say good bye to their old days habits of late arrival in offices and ensure punctuality in offices otherwise get ready for severe departmental action” he warned.
Advisor Labour and HR further said that various reforms have been initiated in the department for the welfare of workers and common man under the directives of Chief Minister Sindh, and there would be no compromise on these initiatives, all resources would be mobilized to improve the performance of labour department in larger public interest, he said.
