Fire guts school building, shops in Bhaderwah

Srinagar, April 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a mysterious fire has razed to ground a private school and two shops at Dharam Pura Mohalla in Bhaderwah town of Doda district Sunday morning. Three persons including two firemen and a civilian, were injured while trying to control the fire. The fire, which started at 2.45 am on Sunday, destroyed the school building of Umar Model Academy. Two adjoining shops and a residential house belonging to Shahid Hussain Sheikh also got partially damaged in the devastating fire.

The cause of the fire could not be immediately established. The proprietor of the building and school management said that mischievous elements had set the 25-year-old school on fire. “This is definitely a handiwork of some mischievous elements and not an accidental fire as we have neither electric wires nor any fireplace in our school,” said Principal of the school Mohd Iqbal Yazdani adding that this a deliberate act and needs to be investigated.
