Karachi, January 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani, President FPCCI in a press statement issued today has urged the Chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to speedily release the CNG Cylinders which are lying at Karachi Port for the last few months thus causing a great deal of hardship and financial losses including daily demurrages to the importers, besides creating congestion at port.
The FPCCI Chief disclosed that the importers of the CNG cylinders have taken-up the issue with the concerned authorities and FPCCI has also recommended to the Director General, Intelligence and Investigation to resolve the long outstanding issue amicably and release the stuck-up CNG cylinders even by levying 5% penalty, subject to conformation of the quality standards.
He added that this will relieve the concerned importers from mental agony and financial losses on the one hand end and contribute a significant amount of revenue to the government exchequer on the other hand.
