Islamabad, May 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): Zakaria Usman, President FPCCI has stated that FPCCI is representing private sector from all provinces of the country and it will submit budget proposals to all provincial governments for necessary incorporation in their forthcoming budget.
He informed that the shadow budget of FPCCI already submitted to the Finance Minister have become widely popular amongst the business community all over the country and appreciated in the government circles as well. He further said that FPCCI will also play important role by submitting its budget proposals for all provinces.
While discussing with the budget committee members of FPCCI, Zakaria Usman, said that FPCCI will meet the Chief Ministers and Finance/Commerce Ministers of all the provincial governments and the proposals for their budget will be submitted to them directly and would prefer to discuss these proposals separately.
He said that the proposals for each province are under process and will be submitted soon. He said that FPCCI will also request the Chief Ministers and Finance/Commerce Ministers of all provinces and the members of standing committees of their assemblies pertaining to budget and accounts to have exclusive meetings on single point agenda of budget.
Zakaria Usman further said that FPCCI will focus on industrial growth, infrastructure, investments and increase in the revenue of the provinces. He said that the provincial governments have to develop both urban and rural areas in terms of infrastructure and economic and trade activities.
“We will point out the means and ways how to generate additional income and increase in the number of tax payers at provincial level without putting further burden on the existing tax payers. There are many sectors which are still out of tax net of the government, they may be envisaged.” he said.
The President FPCCI further said that FPCCI believes that joint efforts of public and private sectors will boost the trade and economic activities and will provide capabilities to get maximum benefits of the existing industrial infrastructure in all provinces in their potential areas.
