Karachi, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has sharply reacted over the arbitrary increase in POL prices by the newly elected government. The President FPCCI, Zubair Ahmed Malik in a statement said that the PML-N government instead of fulfilling its commitments with the people of Pakistan has increased POL prices by about one per cent without considering the miseries of the poor nation, which was already moaning over massive increases in POL and utilities prices during previous two regimes.
He said that frequent raises in prices of utilities and POL almost broken the backbone of the poor masses. He said that it seems that PML-N government too is continuing with PPP’s policies that focused only revenue generation by over-burdening the consumers sans any wisdom.
He said that he had advised the government to come up with some concrete economic policies unlike previous regime and stabilize the economy instead of just increasing prices blindly. While rejecting the undue and uncalled for increase in POL prices he asked the government to withdraw this increase in order to show some respite and not to increase the miseries of the people of Pakistan.
