Islamabad: More than 10 million children of the BISP beneficiary families, aged between 6 to 12 years will get free quality education under Waseela-e-Taleem initiative of Benazir income Support Program.
This was informed by Federal Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Madame Farzana Raja during meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidency today. She said that in the first phase of the Waseela-e-Taleem program, one million non-school going children will be sent to schools.
She briefed the President about various schemes and projects being undertaken under the Umbrella of BISP in the country.
She also updated the President about Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme which would provide vocational and technical training to the female beneficiary or her nominee. She apprised that BISP plans to train 150, 000 beneficiaries every year under the initiative of Waseela-e-Rozgar.
The President appreciated the progress made by BISP and emphasized upon the need for e-monitoring of both Waseela-e-Taleem and Waseela- e-Rozgar initiatives. He said that the monitoring process will further add to the transparency of the program which already has the appreciation and acknowledgement world over.
