Federal government should devise proper policies and strategy to ensure protection of minority’s rights: Sharmila Faruqui

Karachi, March 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): Karachi: Special Assistant to CM Sindh Ms Sharmila Faruqui said in her statement that federal government should devise proper policies and strategy to ensure protection of minority’s rights. Their souls and properties are to be protected on priority basis. We strongly condemn the Lahore church blast as we did in past after every incident, but this is not enough. Now; we need actions and implementations, not words.

We should learn from our mistakes; she includes. She added that federal government to follow the directions of apex court for the constitution of National Council of Minorities Rights and Special Task Force to protect minorities’ worship places. These rulings were made a year back in detail decision on Sou-Moto case pertaining to the suicide bomb attack on a Church in Peshawar.

She also said that such incidents are causing huge defamation of Pakistan worldwide. Our all efforts are in vain to export softer image of Pakistan internationally. She urged that racial, social and religious harmony and tolerance is highly needed to be taught on madressah, schools and college levels. No country or mind would survive in isolation in this global village.
