Islamabad: Islamabad Police have busted a gang involved in looting the passengers after portraying themselves as `government officials and also arrested four other persons for their alleged involvement in dacoities and possessing illegal weapons, a police spokesman said here Wednesday.
According to details, SP (Investigation) Ch. Liaqat Ali assigned the task to In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon to arrest the culprits involved in looting the passengers. A special team was constituted under his supervision which included Sub-Inspector Muhammad Basheer and others.
This team succeeded to arrest three persons identified as Asif, Ashfaq and Arbab and recovered three pistols, mobile phones and other valuables. They confessed to loot the passengers after portraying themselves as `government officials and committing several dacoity incident in the areas of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Riaz from CIA police nabbed Waheed Ahmed and recovered stolen laptop and mobile phone from him while Inspector Nazar Muhammad from Sabzi Mandi police arrested Lal Khan for having 800 gram hashish.
Sihala police arrested two thieves and investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad has appreciated this performance and directed to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
