End to targeted killing top priority of the government: Governor

Karachi, October 27, 2012 (PPI-OT): Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan on Saturday said that an ultimate end to targeted killings in the provincial metropolis was the top most priority of the government. Talking to journalists after offering Eid prayers at Polo Ground here, the Governor said that the law enforcing agencies were actively engaged in the maintenance of law and order situation in the mega city.

“Instances of targeted killing in Karachi are a cause of serious concern for both the Karachiites and the people from other parts of the country,” he added. To a question, he said that an across the board action was being taken against elements responsible for disturbing peace and taking law in their hands.

He said that all-out efforts were being made at every level to maintain peace and ensure strict compliance of the law in the metropolis as well as in other parts of the province. Earlier the Governor offered prayers along with senior ANP leader Amir Nawab, PPP leader Mirza Ishtiaq Beg and others.
