Peshawar, July 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and Deputy Parliamentary Leader of PTI, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has said that emergency services including CT scan, MRI, X-Ray and laboratory tests would be provided free of costs in all big hospitals of the province adding that deficiency of doctors, para-medics, nurses and other work force in district hospitals would be made up on emergency basis in order to ensure provision of specialized health services in all districts of the province.
This, he said, while talking to a delegation of young doctors that called on him in Peshawar on Saturday. The Health minister said that indoor patients would get CT scan in big hospitals in Rs. 700/- instead of 3500/-.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that the deficiency of doctors and other manpower would be made up through adhoc appointments.
Regarding problems of young doctors, the minister said that he himself would sit with them and solve their problems on priority basis. All specialized services would be provided in all district hospitals of the province In order to reduce burden on big hospitals of the province.
These steps, he said, aimed at improving the health delivery services all over the province. He said that some healthcare units of the province were overloaded and others were underutilized which would be made proportionate to the work load.
