Embassy of Pakistan Berlin celebrates 50th Defence Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and fervour

Islamabad, September 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Embassy of Pakistan Berlin celebrated 50th Defence Day of Pakistan today, with traditional zeal and fervour. The event attended by a large number of expatriate Pakistanis was meant to pay tribute to our brave soldiers who made history by repelling a five times bigger army in 1965m says a press release received from Berlin here today.

On this occasion, the messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out. The Defence and Army Attaché Brig. Muinuddin Ghazali in his address stated that our armed forces proved to the enemy in 1965 that its sinister designs against Pakistan would never be allowed to succeed.

This was the time when the people of Pakistan stood behind their troops like a solid rock to repulse Indian aggression. He added that as our troops are fighting against militants in the tribal region of Pakistan and have gained substantial ground in this fight, India has upped its war rhetoric and is repeatedly violating the 2003 ceasefire agreement.

Pakistan being a responsible nuclear power is exercising maximum restraint; however, this should not be misconstrued as our weakness. Our armed forces are capable of thwarting any threat to the country’s security and its territorial integrity.

The Ambassador of Pakistan, Syed Hasan Javed in his remarks stated that the attack on Pakistan in the darkness of the night on 6th September 1965 was a gross miscalculation on the part of India, as Pakistanis proved that they knew to defend their country.

Our future generations will forever be indebted to our national heroes, who wrote new chapters of courage and valour during the 17-day war with India. Today, Pakistan is back on the radar of global investors due to its accelerated economic growth. Its rise as a great power is now a writing on the wall.
