Election Commission of Pakistan takes all the applications of contesting candidates for the Election

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan took up all the appeals/applications/complaints against rejection /acceptance of nomination papers of the contesting candidates for the election to the Senate of Pakistan today, on 22nd February 2012 in the Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad.

The Commission reserved decision on Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari’s appeal, a candidate for general seats from Punjab, which will be announced on 23rd February 2012, 1:00 PM.

While on Manzoor Ahmad Gichki’s appeal, a candidate for technocrat seat from Baluchistan, the Commission ordered for adjournment till 23rd February 2012 as he intimated to this Commission that he would appear tomorrow i-e on 23rd February 2012.

Appeal from Mr. Javed Ahmad, a candidate for technocrat seat from Baluchistan against rejection of his nomination papers by the Returning officer, six applications filed against acceptance of nomination papers from Punjab Province were dismissed due to non-prosecution.

One complaint by Mr. Muhammad Ameen Imrani from Baluchistan against Returning officer and acceptance of nomination papers of Mr. Umar Khan Jamali was also dismissed in default.
