Election Commission of Pakistan Revises Bye-Elections’ Schedule

Islamabad:  The Election Commission of Pakistan, in pursuance to the Order dated 19-01-2012 passed by the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan,  cancelled the schedule of following constituencies and fixed 25th  February 2012 as polling day instead of 20th February 2012:

2- The Election Commission of Pakistan has called upon the electors of the under mentioned constituencies to elect the Members to fill the seats from the said Constituencies as well:

1 NA-168 Vehari-II

2 PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan-cum-Hyderabad (Old Hyderabad-XI)

3- Following is the programme for above-mentioned eight constituencies:

(b) Dates for filing of nomination papers with the Returning Officer by the candidates 6-2-2012 and 7-2-2012
(c) Dates for Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer 8-2-2012 and 9-2-2012
(d) Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer rejecting/accepting the nomination papers 11-2-2012
(e) Last date for deciding appeals by the Tribunal 14-2-2012
(f) Last date for withdrawal of candidature 15-2-2012
(g) Publication of revised list of candidates 15-2-2012
(h) Polling day 25-2-2012

 

4- Moreover, the Election Commission of Pakistan has fixed 25th February, 2012  instead of 15th February,  2012 as poll day in Constituency No.PS-57 Badin-I (Old Badin-III) and       25th February, 2012 instead of 6th February, 2012 as poll day in  Constituency No.PP-18 Attock-IV.

Provided that it shall not be necessary for candidates who have already filed their Nomination Papers,  to file fresh Nomination Forms or make deposit under Section 13 of the Representation of the People Act, 1976.]
