Karachi, July 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed all the concerned officers to take effective measure to control the prices of essential commodities during the month of Ramzan-ul-Mubark so as to provide relief to the common men. He directed the Provincial Ministers and Secretaries of departments to personally monitor the price control mechanism in the districts and take prompt steps to stop the hoarding and profiteering.
This he directed while presiding a high level meeting to review the arrangements for holy month of Ramadan at CM House on Wednesday. He said that Ramzan-ul-Mubarak is a sacred month during which profiteering, charging over the prescribed price and hoarding of the essential commodities should be stopped and people may be provided essential eating items on prescribed prices.
Sindh CM strictly directed the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkar of the province to pay random and surprise visits of the markets to assure that the commodities be sold on their actual prices.
He directed all the district administration to take action against those shop keepers and traders envolved in over charging, hoarding and profiteering. He said that government of Sindh will ensure all possible measures to provide relief to the public during this holy month and will control the prices of essential items of daily use.
CM Sindh directed the concerned district administration to submit daily report to him about the price control measures to check the performance of the respective administration. He asked the authorities of food department to ensure the un-interrupted supply of wheat flour through monitoring the flour mills on daily basis.
Provincial Minister Information Sharjeel Enam Memon, Provincial Advisor for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Chaudhray Muhammad Aijaz, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Waseem Ahmed, Additional Chief Secretary Food, Secretaries of Finance, Agriculture and Principal Secretary to CM Sindh Naveed Kamran Baloch attended the meeting.
