Karachi, September 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that during dictatorship the education of Sindh was intentionally ruined and its side effects can still be felt and it is really disheartening that despite huge funding we are unable to achieve the target and enrolment is also falling. This he said while presiding over a meeting of DOs of Karachi Division here in Tughluq House on Tuesday. He said that he had been observing for the last fifteen years that no well known name had come out from public sector schools while in past these institutions used to produce a large number of excellent personalities. The prevailing situation demands to make big changes in the system.
He directed all the officers concerned not to sit in their offices in first half of the day and make regular visits to the schools and ensure not only the attendance of the teachers but quality teaching education also’.
The Minister Education, while expressing his resentment over poor performance of the Education Department, said that NGOs and private sector seemed ahead of us.
He said that there was no room for politics in educational institutions and every one had to work hard to increase enrolment in schools and to overcome our shortcomings as well. Secretary Education Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho, Special Secretary Dr. Mansoor Rizvi, Additional Secretary Khadim Channa and DOs of Karachi division also attended the meeting.
