Karachi, November 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan Sunday visited different parts of city to review the security arrangements on Ashura. He also went to the Command and Control Centre at Civic Centre.
Dr Ebad also visited the Police Command and Control Centre at Central Police Office. On the directions of the Governor CCTV at 164 positions have been installed in the city. On the occasion Inspector General Police, Sindh briefed the Governor on working of the Police.
Governor Sindh announced a cash reward of two million rupees for the police party that confiscated a huge quantity of explosive material and arms in Manghopir area of the metropolis, saving city from a catastrophic disaster.
Governor appreciated the efforts of Police Department. He lauded the work done by Rangers and Intelligence Agencies and their coordinated efforts to combat terrorism.
He also appreciated the tireless efforts of Police, Rangers, Intelligence Agencies, District Admin for ensuring peaceful Ashura.
Governor Sindh thanked Ulemas from all the sects for their cooperation for ensuring peaceful holding of Ashura. He also appreciated role of media during Ashura.
Governor applauded the efforts of Administrator KMC, Commissioner Karachi and Deputy Commissioners for excellent arrangements for Majalis and processions.
