Karachi, September 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Netherlands feels there are many opportunities to enhance trade relations with Pakistan. This was said by the Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Marcel de Vink at the launching of the Dutch Business Circle Pakistan. Mr de Vink said the Dutch Business Circle stands for equality, flexibility and informality between the members and was sure to grow and prosper if all members worked hard with dedication.
The Dutch envoy said the ties between Holland and this region go back centuries when the Dutch established a business post in Thatta in the 1650s. He added that the Dutch are an enterprising people renowned for doing business with the world.
He added that the Netherlands wanted to start a new phase of trade relations with Pakistan and the inauguration of the Dutch Business Circle Pakistan was a part of this process. He said Netherlands wanted to focus on four areas which are agriculture, water, energy and logistics.
He added that Holland’s agriculture sector was very productive and Holland was among the largest exporters of dairy and meat products. Mr de Vink appreciated Honorary Consul of the Netherlands in Karachi Mr Tarek Moinuddin Khan for looking after Dutch interests in Karachi.
Earlier Mr Tarek M. Khan who introduced the Dutch envoy said the DBCP was sure to meet with success as the Pakistani people were dedicated workers and keen to benefit from the best practices and expertise of Dutch corporations. The inauguration was attended by representatives of the Dutch government and senior management of Dutch companies in Pakistan.
