Dukhtaran-e-Millat denounces arrests in IHK

Srinagar, March 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has strongly denounced the arrests of people especially youth in the Valley, demanding immediate end to the ongoing arrest drive.

The DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the continued detention of the party activist, Fahmida Sofi. “What do the authorities want to achieve by putting this girl in prison? She was arrested from hospital where she was attending on party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi. We are at a loss to understand why she was arrested,” she added.

The spokesperson said that by arresting students the police were marring their educational career.
