Lahore: Punjab University Department of Applied Psychology Chairperson Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar has attended 3rd International Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Conference, jointly organized by Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society and Department of Clinical Psychology, University of Dhaka. The theme of the conference was “Mental Health and Psychological Support Services in Developing Countries.”
Prof Kausar’s visit was sponsored by the Fund in memoriam of Elizabeth Campbell; Powell Campbell Edelmann. Prof Kausar, along with three eminent clinical psychologists from UK, gave a symposium on “Global Warming and Disaster Planning for Bangladesh: Psychological Perspectives.”
Dr Rukhsana Kausar was also discussant for post conference workshop on “Treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.” During her visit, Dr Kausar had meetings with Dean Science Dhaka University and Director National Institute of Mental Health Sher-e-Bangle Nagar Dhaka to explore possible of linkage between PU and their respective institutes.
She, along with a team of clinical psychologists from UK, was invited by ATM Bangla for a TV show and a live interview by Medico Radio on psychological implications of disasters.
