Srinagar, November 04, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained Chairman of Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM), Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, has said that the alliance forged among Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik six months ago needs to be more strengthened and made permanent.
Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo in a statement issued in Srinagar said the resistance leadership needed this unity even after the current proactive phase of the movement reached its conclusion.
He said, India is working on long and short term plans with respect to Kashmir, adding these include crushing the freedom sentiment of the masses through the use of brute force and alongside it is changing the Muslim majority status of the territory. To resist these evil designs of India and to inculcate a proactive character in freedom struggle the unity in leadership needs to be protected and strengthened, he maintained.
“We request these three leaders to christen this unity as Apex Hurriyat Committee to make it permanent. It is our request that noted legal luminary and pro-freedom leader Mian Abdul Qayoom should be included as the fourth member of this committee,” he stated.
