Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister for National Harmony Dr. Paul Bhatti has distributed Christmas gifts among the prisoners belong to minorities at Adiala Jail here on Monday.
Dr. Paul also announced the formation of free legal aid cell to facilitate the minorities who are not in a position to hire a lawyer. The minister accepted the demand of the prisoners to bear the expenditures for the renovation of the Church and to build its verandah.
The amount of the gifts was collected by the school children led by the niece of Dr. Paul Bhatti, Natasha who is a student of 8th grade in Canada. Religious service was held and a Christmas cake was also cut to celebrate the Christmas event.
Dr. Paul also lauded the administration of the jail for providing freedom of practicing religion to the minorities and said government is committed to defend the rights of the minorities and taking all possible steps for their uplift.
