Dr Paul Bhatti Minister In Charge for the Ministry of National Harmony said this while attending a Christmas Party as a Chief Guest given by Inspector General of Islamabad Police Bani Amin Khan to honour martyrs of police personnel and the services of Christian police officers in the line of duty.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police Bani Amin Khan while speaking on the occasion paid tribute to Islamabad Christian police employees for their services to maintain law and order in the federal territory.
Dr Paul Bhatti Minister for National Harmony highly appreciated the holding of such festivals for religious minorities that he said would send a strong message of peace, unity, brotherhood and respect. Dr Bhatti said on the occasion that we are all Pakistanis and reject any kind of division drawn on the basis of hatred, fanaticism and extremism.
He also said that there was an urgent need to forge consensus on all fronts so that sectarianism and extremism could be eliminated from our society. Dr Paul also prayed that the New Year might bring peace, security and prosperity to our nation.
The minister also lauded the praiseworthy role of Inspector General of Islamabad Police for the protection of religious minorities particularly in Rimsha Masih Case. The minister paid tribute to Christian Pakistanis for playing their due role for the uplift of their country. Later the minister also distributed cash amongst Christian employees
