Dr Fakhtoo denied medical facilities in Udhampur Jail: MDM

Srinagar, July 26, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) has said that the authorities of Udhampur Jail in Jammu are denying medical facilities to its illegally detained President, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo.

A spokesman of MDM in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who is facing life imprisonment, was shifted to Udhampur district jail by the occupation authorities despite having directions by the High Court to keep him at Srinagar Central Jail. He said that the party chief was suffering from Glucoma and his eyesight was deteriorating with each passing day but the authorities were depriving him of medical facilities.

“Dr Qasim is supposed to be examined by the opthamologist at regular intervals and necessary directions in the matter have been issued by the High Court but the jail authorities have ignored the court orders due to which he has suffered a lot. He is also a patient of chronic disk problem documented by MRI but treatment is denied to him,” the spokesman added.
