Karachi: District Coordination Officer Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh has said to town administration to finalize all arrangements for maintenance of cleanliness one week before the coming Eid-ul-Azha. Availability of additional machinery, vehicles and manpower for this purpose must be ensured in advance.
Dumping of offal of sacrificial animals will be prohibited in Lyari and Malir River. City Wardens would be deputed for monitoring of such practice in the city. Six teams comprising three officers each would monitor the lifting and disposal of offal and cleaning work in different areas of city during Eid-ul-Azha.
He said this while addressing a meeting held in Civic Center on Tuesday regarding arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha.
The meeting was attended by Managing Director KWSB Misbahuddin Farid, EDO Revenue Ganhor Khan Leghari, EDO Works and Services Altaf G. Memon, EDO Health Dr. Nasir Javed, EDO Municipal Services Dr. Shoukat Zaman, all town administrators and other officers of city government.
DCO Karachi on this occasion directed officers to prepare a full plan of lifting and burial of offal of sacrificial animals during three days of Eid-ul-Azha so that all offal could be dumped in the trenches as had been done in previous years.
He said that the 6 teams comprising of three officers each would monitor this work on town level and submit its report to the central control room in the City Government.
DCO Karachi directed officers to take strict action against the establishment of illegal bakra piris in the city and mobilize the anti encroachments cell for this purpose.
He said that besides the usual offal lifting vehicles, two fumigation vehicles will be given to each town while four vehicles would be stationed in the DCO Camp Office as back up.
DCO Roshan Shaikh directed Veterinary Department to make arrangements for setting up of veterinary camps with doctors and medicines at the designated Bakra Piri. EDO Finance Aamir Khurshid was nominated as focal person in this regard…
