Islamabad, April 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): A high level trade delegation from Taiwan will visit Pakistan from 9th to 12th April 2013. This was disclosed by Mr. Abraham Lin, Director Taiwan Trade Center (Tehran Office) in a meeting with Mr. Zubair Ahmed Malik President FPCCI at Federation House, Karachi.
He further informed that High level Trade Delegation being organized by Taiwan Trade Center with the objective to promote bi-lateral trade and economic relations between the two countries and explore new opportunities for investment and joint ventures with their Pakistani counterparts particularly in the field of Auto parts, Textile machinery, Steel products, bearings, coils, UPS and Solar power products, adhesives and nets, sanitary napkins etc)
While welcoming the Director Taiwan Trade Center Mr. Zubair Ahmed Malik, President FPCCI assured all possible cooperation and assistance to make the visit of delegation a success. He further stated that the visit of Taiwanese Delegation will go a long way in expansion of existing volume of trade between the two countries is $ 600 million which can be enhanced manifold.
The visa issue for the Pakistani businessmen also came under discussion and it was agreed by the Director Taiwan Trade Center that he will take up this issue with his concerned authorities to grant visa on arrival at Taiwan instead of getting visa from any third country which is a cumbersome procedure. Mr. Zubair Ahmed Malik, President, FPCCI also proposed that Taiwan should open a trade Office in Pakistan to facilitate the business community of Pakistan.
The President accepted Mr. Abraham Lin’s offer to lead a Trade Delegation to Taiwan to foster bilateral relations between the two countries. He identified the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in areas such as textiles, denim fabrics, leather, fruits etc from Pakistan side, while Taiwan can look upon in areas of hi-tech industry and Transfer of Technology as Taiwan is one of the leading countries in the world in the field of cutting edge technological innovation.
Mr. Azhar Saeed Butt, Vice President FPCCI and Chairman Punjab region highly appreciated the efforts being made by Director Trade Center and invited Mr. Lin to visit Lahore and other adjacent cities which have several opportunities for mutual cooperation.
