Director General Anti Narcotics Force meets Chief Minster Punjab

Islamabad, May 29, 2014 (PPI-OT): Director General Anti Narcotics Force Major General Khawar Haneef met with Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister Secretariat, Lahore. The occasion was also attended by Force Commander ANF Lahore and Force Commander ANF Rawalpindi.

Discussion mainly homed on eradication of narcotics from society, especially from Punjab Province. During the meeting DG ANF briefed about performance of ANF. Chief Minister Punjab while acknowledging the achievements of the force expressed that ANF will continue its endeavours in fight against narcotics.

During the meeting Chief Minister consented to establish a Narcotics Forensic Laboratory and a large scale Treatment Hospital for Drug Addicts at Rawalpindi. Chief Minister emphasized that drug addiction is a serious issue, especially amongst youth of university, colleges and schools.

He stressed that effective measure are required to address addiction problem. DG ANF assured that no stone will be left unturned to engage drug suppliers and they will be severely handled in accordance with law. At the end Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif assured his full assistance to Anti Narcotics Force.
