DFP concerned over plight of Kashmiri political prisoners

Srinagar, January 29, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed serious concern over the plight of its illegally detained Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, and other Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails.

A DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the ill-treatment meted out to the Kashmiri political prisoners and appealed to the Indian civil society and the concerned international forums to use their good offices to end the long and continued incarceration of these detainees.

He said that despite being political prisoners they were denied every right guaranteed in the jail manual. “Revengeful attitude of the rulers in Delhi has crossed every limit of cruelty and callousness. They are willfully prolonging the detention of Shabbir Shah and other Kashmiri prisoners in jails through judicial victimization,” he deplored.
