Srinagar, April 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained APHC leader and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has said that the Kashmiris detained at Kotbhalwal jail in Jammu were being ill treated and humiliated by the jail authorities.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan who is detained at the jail produced before a court in Srinagar on Wednesday. Later, due to health problems he was admitted at the Soura Medical Institute in Srinagar.
Talking to media persons in the court premises, Khan said, “Kashmiris detained in Kotbhalwal jail were kept with the hard core criminals and they are made to work like coolies”. Khan added that humiliation of Kashmiri detainees by the Jail authorities was a routine.
Khan said that Kashmiris were being denied even the facilities under jail manual. He said that in Kotbhalwal it seemed as if the jail authorities were assigned to trouble the Kashmiris.
“The government of India and its authorities that killed innocent youth in 2008 and 2010 mass uprisings are involved in the spurious drug scandal. The people, who shamelessly killed the unarmed youth only to oblige New Delhi, are now involved in this scandal to make money by means of commission and all that, he added
Pertinently, Nayeem Khan was arrested on February, a day before Muhammad Afzal Guru was hanged. He was first lodged in Central Jail Srinagar, released on court orders but arrested in the jail premises only. Later Khan was slapped infamous Public Safety Act and was shifted to Kotbhalwal Jail Jammu.
