Islamabad: A delegation of Supreme Court Bar Association, headed by President Supreme Court Bar Association Yaseen Azad, called on Federal Law Minister, Farooq H.Naek at his office. The delegation also included Mr. Muhammad Arif Khan, Mss. Imrana Baloch, Mr. Afzal Khan, Mr. Kifayat Ullah Khan, Mr. Muhammad Habib Qureshi, Mr. Ch. Muhammad Aslam Ghuman, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Zar, Sardar Abdul Majeed Khan.
The delegation apprised the law minister about the problems being faced by the legal community. Speaking on the occasion, Law Minister said that present government is a democratic government and will follow an unbiased and non-political approach towards their problems and they will be solved on priority basis.
He ordered an immediate release of 10 million rupees for the fund of Supreme Court Bar Association and made a commitment that more funds will be allocated in the next budget for the welfare of legal community.
He also asked the lawyers to submit their written suggestions regarding the amendments required to be made in different laws like CPC, CrPC, PPC and Law of Evidence, so that bills can be presented in parliament for their approval.
Moreover, he gave a suggestion to start a radio Programme to render legal advice to the public on telephone regarding different issues. The delegation assured him of its help in this regard.
Furthermore, he assured the delegation that he will take up the matter of the release of more funds for the completion of Supreme Court Bar Association Complex and to start a Shuttle Bus Service.
On the demand of the delegation he promised to use his good offices to arrange a meeting with the President and Prime Minister.
