Islamabad, January 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 13 member delegation of Supreme Court Bar Association, Azad Jammu and Kashmir headed by its President Raja Fazal Hussain Rubani, and comprising other office bearers called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry today, i.e. 23-01-2013 in the Supreme Court, Islamabad.
Welcoming the delegation, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the bench and bar are integral part of the same system and without the active participation of bar the goal of speedy justice at the door step of public at large cannot be fulfilled.
Praising the bench and bar of AJ and K he further said that there is strong and active judiciary in AJ and K and the Bar is also viable. The Bars of Azad Kashmir also played an effective and courageous role during the period of the lawyers’ movement in Pakistan.
The members discussed with the Hon’ble Chief Justice issues and matter of interest of the legal/judicial fraternity. The delegation expressed the hope that under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Justice the system of administration of justice will further improve and deliver justice to the public at large.
They appreciated his steadfastness, devotion, commitment, determination and efforts for the cause of justice and said that the public have reposed great confidence in the judiciary. They further expressed that his Lordship is a role model and source of inspiration for the rest of the judiciary.
The delegation paid great tributes to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan for his untiring efforts for the Constitutionalism, Rule of Law and independence of judiciary. They also invited him to visit Supreme Court Bar Association, AJ and K at his convenience. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed his gratitude and assured them to visit in due course of time.
