Delegation of Sahiwal Tehsil Bar Calls on Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan

Islamabad: “Legal profession is an onerous responsibility. The legal fraternity should work hard to enhance their capabilities to strengthen the profession”, said the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while talking to a 20 Member delegation of Sahiwal Tehsil Bar headed by its President Mr. Altaf Hussain Baloch, Raja Muhammad Najabat Hussain, General Secretary and consisting of other office bearers who called on his lordship today i.e. 15.12.2011 in Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.

The delegation also lauded untiring efforts of the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for his commitment and sincerity towards his profession. The Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan reciprocated the sentiments and praised their sacrifices due to which the movement was kept alive and the message of Rule of law and supremacy of Constitution spread in every nook and corner of the country.

The members discussed the issues and matters of interest of legal/judicial fraternity and told that public confidence in courts have enhanced due to speedy justice being provided at the doorsteps of the public at large.

They also informed his lordship about the hardships faced by them and requested for the construction of Judicial Complex at Sahiwal Tehsil and shifting of labour court, Anti-terrorism court, consumer court, banking court and Anti-corruption court at one place in the vicinity of existing court premises to facilitate the lawyers and litigants.

The Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan assured them to take up the matter with concerned authorities. They further appreciated the appointment of local commission for recording evidence under National Judicial Policy, his lordship informed the delegation that local commissioners to record the evidence have been appointed with view to provide a common platform to facilitate the litigant parties to get prompt decision from the Court and the youngster Advocate to gain firsthand experience of legal issues and also to facilitate them financially and encourage them in the legal field.

The delegation prayed for long life of his lordship and invited to visit Sahiwal Tehsil Bar Association District Sargodha, his lordship conveyed his gratitude and extended his thanks.
