Islamabad, March 21, 2013 (PPI-OT): The legal fraternity is an important segment of society as well as judicial system of country. Their significance cannot be denied as without their assistance and active participation, the goal of speedy justice to litigants at their door steps cannot be fulfilled” said the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while addressing the delegation of lawyers hailing from Karchi,Hyderabad,Sukkur and Sanghar headed by Mr. Muhammad Aqil, Vice Chairman, Sindh Bar Council and comprising other members of Sindh Bar Council, Hyderabad, Sukkur High Court and Sanghar District Bar Association called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today i.e.21.03.2013 at Supreme Court,Branch Registry Karachi.
Appreciating the efforts and struggle of legal fraternity during Lawyers Movement Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the Bars struggled hard to support the Judiciary for rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution. Due to the struggle of lawyers’ fraternity the independent judiciary was restored and this struggle is unprecedented in the judicial history of the world.
The members of the delegation thanked the Chief Justice of Pakistan for sparing time for them and praised his commitment and determination for the cause of dispensation of justice, rule of law and supremacy of Constitution.
They also lauded the role of superior judiciary in enforcing the fundamental rights of people and providing relief to vulnerable segment of society. They said that the public have reposed great confidence in the judiciary
The delegation invited the Chief Justice of Pakistan to visit the Hyderabad bar; his lordship conveyed his gratitude, extended his thanks and assured to visit them in suitable time.
