Islamabad, October 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): A delegation of Karachi and Hyderabad Bar Associations headed by Mahmood-ul-Hassan (President Karachi Bar Association), Qazi Abdul Sattar (Advocate High Court) and consisting of other office bearers, members of Karachi and Hyderabad Bars called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today i.e. 20.10.2012 in Supreme Court Branch Registry, Karachi.
Talking to the delegation, his lordship also admired the role of legal fraternity in Lawyers’ Movement in which they stood firm and struggled hard to bring rule of law in the society through peaceful efforts. His lordship added that the movement was supported by the civil society because it was the struggle for the principles.
The members of Bar also appreciated his Lordship’s struggles and efforts in the days of lawyers’ movement which is unique in the global history and informed about their struggle and sacrifice during the days of the movement. They also discussed with the Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest to the legal/judicial fraternity.
They assured the Honourable Chief Justice of their full support and cooperation. They expressed the hope that the administration of justice needs his bold leadership and motivation to deliver justice to the public at large.
They said that the public have reposed great confidence in the judiciary. The delegation informed his lordship that the movement for rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of judiciary instilled a new spirit and provided a common platform to lawyers to cooperate with one another for larger good of the society.
