Islamabad, July 02, 2012 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Capital Administration and Development (CAD), Nazar M.Gondal has said that delay in the completion of the cardiac centre at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is unacceptable and those responsible for the negligence must be identified and punished.
The minister was heading a meeting on the cardiac centre project here at the ministry.
“There are heart patients who are poor and cannot afford treatment at private hospitals. The project, if completed, will provide an opportunity to the needy and poor families to get heart treatment at a public sector hospital. You people had promised to complete the project by the end of June, but failed to honor your commitment and meet the deadline. I want responsibility be fixed for the gross negligence”, said the minister.
The minister further said that weekly progress report of the project must be submitted to the ministry and he must also be apprised on the development on the project.
The minister also chaired a meeting on starting O’Level and A’ Level classes in the public sector institutions of the federal capital. “Classes must be begin from September this year. Fee structure must be one third of the private institutions and ten percent quota should be reserved for the poor and deserving students. We want to provide quality education to those who can not afford to send their children to expensive and costly institutions. “
Secretary, CA and D Mr. Imtiaz Anyat Elahi, Joint Secretary, Noor Zaman Khan and other senior officers of the Ministry attended the meeting.
