Defunct Cotton Export Corporation of Pakistan CEO was winded up by the Government and a Voluntary Retirement Scheme was introduced

Karachi: Now it has come to our knowledge that the Sub-Committee of the Cabinet is going to reinstate a large number of employees of defunct CEO whose date of appointment does not fall within the period specified in The Sacked Employees (Reinstatement) Act-2010 besides they have availed the benefits of VRS. In case these employees are reinstated by the Sub- Committee, it will open a Pandora box of similar request from other thousands of employees of defunct CEO and RECP whose services were dispensed with them with benefits of VRS which will over burden the TCP and its existence shall be questioned with such huge manpower.

There is great unrest amongst the employees of trading Corporation of Pakistan due to situation stated above. TCP Employees’ union (CBA) have also approached the Ministry of Commerce as well as Chairman of the Sub- Committee of the Cabinet to refrain in Making such decisions which is not covered under the provisions of the Sacked Employees (Reinstatement) Act-2010.
