Credit Expansion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Discussion with Banks and Chambers of Commerce

Karachi, March 07, 2016 (PPI-OT): State Bank of Pakistan has arranged for an important discussion session titled “Credit Expansion in KPK—Discussion with Banks and Chambers of Commerce” at a local hotel in Peshawar on Monday, 7th March, 2016. The event is expected to be attended by presidents of banks, representatives of FPCCI and KPK chambers of commerce/ business community and senior SBP officials.

It may be recalled that private sector businesses has been deeply affected due to security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. After operation Zarb‐e‐Azab, the situation has improved significantly and businesses are returning to normalcy. To provide support to the businesses, particularly the small businesses, in terms of availability of credit, the State Bank of Pakistan is holding this discussion session. The discussion will focus on views regarding difficulties in availability and provision of credit and the solutions to bring improvement in them.
