Consul General of Iran calls on Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi, December 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): Newly posted Consul General of Iran at Karachi Mr. Mehdi Sobhani today called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali shah at C.M House. He was accompanied by staff of Consulate General while Principal Secretary to C.M also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Sindh while welcoming the new Consul General of Iran and thanked the support from Government and people of Islamic Republic of Iran during flood and heavy rains. He said that Iran is a brotherly country and it is our endeavour that economic relations should further improve.

The Consul General of Iran thanked for hospitality and said that one clinic from Iran is functioning at Badin, while the groundbreaking ceremony will be held on December 25, 2012. Mr. Mehdi Sobhani further said that we want to introduce Pakistan to Iranian businessmen. Consul General of Iran added that Iranian government wants to come for meat complex and dairy project in Sindh, while there should be cooperation amongst women of both countries.

He said that we are ready to receive delegation of women from PPP in Iran. He also invited Advisor to C.M for relief Haleem Adil Shaikh to visit Iran, while assured that any initiative from Sindh Government, the people and government of Iran will cooperate.

Chief Minister Sindh said that the provincial government has mentioned the fields of cooperation but there is need of shelter to affected people as such housing needs are essential. He added that we have to enhance cooperation on economic side, while we have to improve trade relations in all fields. Later, the Chief Minister Sindh presented traditional Sindh Cap, Ajrak, Khais and C.M House shield to Consul General of Iran, who also presented gift of Iranian carpet to Chief Minister Sindh.
