Srinagar, May 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, in the wake of embarrassing defeat to Congress and National Conference in the recently concluded Indian parliamentary elections, Tabassum Guru, the wife of Muhammad Afzal Guru has said that people have punished these parties for hanging her husband.
Tabassum Guru in a media interview in Srinagar commenting on the outcome of India’s elections said, “Congress and NC hanged my husband for votes. People knew my husband was not involved in any crime. He was only hanged for votes by these parties.”
“Besides people of Kashmir, Indian population too knew that my husband was innocent,” she said. Afzal was hanged in February 2013 by India in Delhi’ Tihar jail.
“They thought it was appropriate time for hanging of my husband, but I knew what would be the consequences of hanging Afzal, some consequences are out and some would be seen in coming time,” she added.
She said that Indian Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde and puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were instrumental in hanging her husband.
