Concern expressed over LoC tense situation

Oslo, January 20, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Executive Director of Kashmiri Scandinavian Council, Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan, has expressed concern over the Indian attitude towards escalating tension with Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC).Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan in a statement in Oslo said that India, which claimed to be the largest democracy of the world, was slowly becoming hostage in the hands of Indian army and Hindu extremist forces because of Kashmir dispute.

He said that the troops had their own economic interests and Hindu extremists played their own religious and political card. He said that India was now openly supporting the army and Hindu extremists who wanted to weaken Pakistan.

The Executive Director said that India was preparing to strike across the LoC and all indicators were pointing to this direction. He said that it was not a coincidence that the Indian Army chief and the Prime Minister issued one after another threats to attack Pakistan and at the same time the Indian media were creating a war hysteria to mobilise the public.

Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan said that the border escalation on the LoC had once again highlighted importance of resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that it was responsibility of the United Nations and other peace-loving countries to address the real cause of tension between the two nuclear countries.
