Concern expressed over detention of Hurriyet leaders

Srinagar, March 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of the party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and house arrest of veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders and activists.

The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that despite ailment, the authorities had shifted Shabbir Ahmad Shah from Srinagar central jail to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu, which was condemnable.

He said that the Indian rulers were trying to suppress the ongoing liberation movement through use of brute force but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. He said that the people of Kashmir had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for securing their inalienable right to self-determination and they would continue their struggle till its logical end.
