Islamabad: Following the meeting of members of the business community with Dr. Shoaib Suddle, the Federal Tax Ombudsman yesterday, i.e. May 2, 2012, it was inadvertently reported in the FPCCI’s press release that the FTO should have powers of the High Courts.
The factual position is that during the course of the meeting, it was discussed that the various Tribunals set up by the Government relating to tax matters may be given powers of the High Courts, so that their decisions could be implemented in true letter and spirit.
