Karachi, July 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): City wardens have been increased in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital along with other big hospitals under the arrangements of KMC and more city wardens have also been deployed in big parks of the city.
Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan said this during a meeting of re-scheduling duties of city wardens.
The meeting was attended by Director General Parks Sadiq Rajar, Sr. Director Municipal Services and Information Technology Masood Alam, Sr. Director Culture Sports and Recreation Muhammad Shoaib Waqar, Sr. Director Medical Services Dr. Muhammad Ali Abbasi, Director City Wardens Minhaj-ul-Haq, Medical Superintendent Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Dr. Nadeem Rajput and other officers.
Metropolitan Commissioner said that above 550 city wardens were being deployed in five districts of city in the month of Ramazan who would perform duties in different timings and control traffic along traffic police.
He said that about 300 city wardens were also being deployed in big parks and hospitals under KMC. The hospitals include Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi Institute of Heart Disease, Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital and other hospitals and parks include Bagh-e-Ibn-e-Qasim, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park, Beach Park Clifton.
Metropolitan Commissioner said that city wardens would perform their duties on emergency centres, shopping centres, Taraveeh prayer locations along with helping traffic police in maintenance of traffic flow on city roads. He said that armed guards along with city wardens would be deployed in important parks of the city.
