Karachi: DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh has said that city government Karachi has so far recovered 1104 acres land worth Rs9360million from the possession of land mafia after launching the present anti-encroachments drive on 3rd October 2011.
While addressing a meeting of officers of Revenue Department in his office he said measures will be taken to further accelerate the campaign.
Earlier the meeting reviewed the ongoing action against land grabbers in different areas of the city and took various decisions to make present campaign more effective.
DCO Roshan Ali Shaikh directed the officers that they should not succumb to any pressure in the recovery of grabbed land and continue impartial action till the clearance of all encroached land in the city.
He appreciated performance of anti-encroachments team which had recovered 1104 acres land in last week. The recovered land includes prized land near Northern Bypass that had been allocated for relocation of whole sale markets.
DCO Karachi said that the campaign was monitored on a daily basis and the record of all grabbed land was compiled also.
He said that public welfare projects will be initiated on the recovered government land as no concession will be given to land grabbers any more. Help and cooperation of police, rangers and FC will also be sought if required in the operation against land encroachers.
