Karachi, October 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, KMC Administrator Rauf Akhter Farooqui and Additional I.G Ghulam Qadir Thebo said all arrangements were finalized for offal lifting, ensuring cleanliness on Eid-ul-Azha and improving law and order condition and providing all possible facilities to citizens.
All the civic bodies were on the same page for providing better facilities to people and have a comprehensive and effective coordination among them which would bring good and positive results. They stated this while speaking in a packed press conference held in the committee room of the Civic Centre on Friday.
The Managing Director of KW and SB Qutubuddin Shaikh also addressed the conference whereas the administrators and municipal commissioners of district municipal corporations and KMC officers were also present on this occasion.
The Commissioner Karachi said since last few days the Governor and Chief Minister Sindh and high officials of provincial government had been issuing directives to concerned officers in different meetings to make people know that all district bodies were working in a comprehensive method for providing all possible facilities to them.
He said a better team work was made possible with coordinated efforts and we all were trying to save the people from any difficulty on Eid-ul-Azha. Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui said all civic organizations were making this sure to provide better facilities to citizens with effective coordinated efforts. He said the district municipal corporations were responsible for offal lifting in their area and performing cleaning works whereas KMC will provide all possible facilities to them.
Administrator Karachi said the KMC and DMCs have inducted more vehicles and machinery in the already available fleet of vehicles used for this purpose so that better offal lifting and cleanliness measures could be made sure. He said the collection points were established in the city for contact with the district administration and municipal officers which were advertised through media.
The timings for fumigation were also worked out whereas city wardens would perform their duty at various important locations on Eid-ul-Azha. Administrator Rauf Akhter Farooqui thanked the Commissioner Karachi for providing cooperation to KMC.
The Addl. I.G Sindh Ghulam Qadir Thebo said pillion riding will not be banned during Eid days and about 11 thousand police officials would be deputed on the important sacrificial points in the city. He said police and rangers will petrol jointly as we all have the same aim to serve the people in the best possible way and eliminated crime.
M.D KWSB said the people would not have to face any problem with regard to water supply if K Electric cooperates with us and ensure no power break down at pumping stations. The offices of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board will remain open on all three days of Eid.
