Chief Secretary directs Secretaries to evolve strategy to overcome irregularity of unregistered, unfit vehicles

Karachi, December 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas has asked the Secretaries of Excise and Transports Departments to evolve a strategy to over come the irregularity of unregistered and unfit vehicles, immediately.

He advised that consultation with Home and Police Authorities should also be ascertained to this effect. He was presiding a meeting to review the progress of relevant Departments, against the unlawful movement of certain vehicles. ACS Home Wasim Ahmed, IGP Fayyaz Leghari, Secretary Excise Manzoor Memon and other senior officers, also attended the meeting.

The IGP suggested that in view of timely increasing irregularities viz fancy number plates, AFR inscribed number plates and tinted glasses etc. , the rules may be considered for amendment as decade old challan systems needs modification for proper action to resolve the issue.

C.S. advised the Secretary Excise and taxation to consult with concerned departments and submit summary for C.M. within two days. He also emphasized upon proper fitness of the Passenger Buses and all other sorts of the Public Transport.
