Rawalpindi, November 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) was the chief guest on Annual Parents’ Day ceremony at Military College Murree (MCM), today. He appreciated the college to have made its mark among leading educational institutions of the country within a short period of five years by consistently producing excellent academic results. Besides providing quality education and personality grooming, the college alongside other two military colleges in Jhelum and Sui is one of the feeder institutions for Pakistan Army.
He noted it with great satisfaction that with a near 60% induction rate in the armed forces, MCM was well upto its mission. While addressing the cadets, he advised them to make best use of the facilities and environment made available to them and spare no effort to become most valued part of the society.
Welcome address was delivered by the College Prefect followed by the College Annual Report by the Commandant. Chief guest also gave away prizes to the cadets for distinguished performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
The ceremony also included inauguration of college auditorium by the chief guest. MCM is one of the symbols of the Army commitment to contribute in national development through numerous projects in the education sector.
Earlier, on his arrival, Chief of the Army Staff was received in the college by Lieutenant General Raheel Sharif, Inspector General Training and Evaluation and Brigadier Abdul Hayee, Commandant MCM.s
